| Description of the problem | This vehicle experienced alternator failure and subsequent battery discharge, and was then boosted and driven home. Once the engine was again restarted. It failed to shut down after the driver removed the key from the ignition. According to our private automotive engineer, this lack of driver control over engine operations is a fundamentally dangerous condition, and represents a potential firmware and/or computer system error within the design of the vehicle. |
